DESCRIPTION:

Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) cordially invites APAIE2019 delegates to visit UNITEN main campus in Putrajaya on 29th of March, 2019.

UNITEN is one of the first private universities in Malaysia which holds a government-linked status. It is wholly owned by Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), the biggest utility company in South-east Asia. The university started off as a National Electricity Board (NEB) training centre in 1976, and developed into a university after receiving an invitation from the Ministry of Education Malaysia to set up a private university in 1997 at Putrajaya, Malaysia, with a campus size of 215 acres. In 2001, a branch university was opened in Muadzam Shah, Pahang, Malaysia.

UNITEN’s strengths span across the areas of Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Management, Accounting, Finance and Energy Economics. The six (6) faculties on the main campus include College of Foundation and Diploma Studies (CFDS), College of Engineering (COE), College of Computer Science and Information Technology (CSIT), College of Energy Business and Economics (CEBE) and College of Graduate Studies (COGS). On top of that, the branch campus also consists of College of Business Management and Accounting (COBA).

All programmes at UNITEN are designed to satisfy the requirements of the relevant professional bodies. The curricula, further enhanced with project work, research, open-ended experiments and practical training, are designed with input from the industrial and commercial sectors as well as from local and foreign universities. All academic programmes are formulated to meet the academic requirements of the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA). Additionally, the selection of lecturers and advisory staff is based on their qualifications, professional experience, teaching expertise and professionalism.

With the vision to be a leading global energy university that shapes a sustainable future, UNITEN strives to advance knowledge and learning experience through research and innovation that will best serve society.
